The University of Redlands Launches New Virtual Career Center to Make Career Accessible For All

The University of Redlands, a private university in Redlands, California serving undergraduates, online learners and graduate students, has officially launched their new virtual career center, which will transform the way that students engage with career planning and with The Office of Career & Professional Development.

The University of Redlands has created a platform that empowers their community to find meaningful resources for them and that is accessible for all. To do so, the University of Redlands partnered with uConnect, the creators of the first all-in-one virtual career center. The content on this new platform includes valuable resources, an array of career opportunities, is available for all members of the University of Redlands community and connects students and alumni to employers, faculty and the Office of Career & Professional Development staff.

The Career and Professional Development Center’s platform is organized into digital ‘Communities,’ or curated online spaces, that align with a specific career path and that support both students and graduates of the College of Arts & Sciences, School of Business, School of Education, and the Graduate School of Theology. With Career Communities such as ‘Healthcare and Public Health’ and ‘Theology and Ministry,’ as well as Communities for different student affinities, including ‘Communities of Color’ and ‘First Generation’ students, users of the platform can easily find a space tailored to their unique interests, backgrounds, and needs. Students can explore these curated Career and Affinity Communities to quickly find valuable resources, jobs and events specific to their career path or identity.

The University of Redlands’ new virtual career center is not just for students, but provides valuable information for alumni, faculty and employers, as well. The University of Redlands has always provided support and guidance for their alumni - and now those alumni can easily schedule appointments with a Career and Professional Development staff member or connect to the University’s alumni network, through the platform.

The University of Redlands is also integrating with Handshake through their new virtual career center to automatically pull events and jobs specifically for their community’s needs directly onto their platform - making it easier than ever for students to see the wealth of opportunities that are available to them. Also available is their labor market insights module, brought to the platform by uConnect and Emsi. Through the aptly titled ‘Career Pathways’ module, users of the new platform can explore real-time employment trends, salary information, top employers and more. The University of Redlands’ platform also features a variety of blog content, both original and from uConnect’s blog library, where fresh content from industry leaders is continuously pulled in.

“Providing meaningful resources and abundant opportunities for our students and alumni is essential to the University of Redlands,” said Kelly Dries, Executive Director for the Office of Career and Professional Development. “With our new virtual career center, we look forward to continuing to expand our virtual offerings and to increasing accessibility to the wide-range of content and support that we offer to all who attend and graduate from the University of Redlands.”

uConnect CEO David Kozhuk shared of the partnership: “The University of Redlands team is dedicated to career development and the success of their students and alumni. We are thrilled to support their work to increase access to career services for all members of their community and we look forward to a long and successful partnership.”
