The University of Miami is setting a new standard for alumni services. Rather than engaging with alumni almost exclusively for the purpose of soliciting donations, the University of Miami Alumni Association is providing dedicated career services, among other high value programming, to their community. The launch of their new digital career development platform, alumnicareer.miami.edu, scales personalized search and discovery of career resources for Miami's nearly 189,000 living alumni.
By serving alumni with relevant career service resources during all career stages, the University is helping ensure that Miami graduates are supported and are successful throughout all phases of their careers. This approach engages this important community by building a value-based relationship, encouraging alumni to turn to their alma mater for their continuing education needs, or simply letting alumni know they are supported even long after they graduate and are important members of the ‘Cane community, which in turn is likely to have a positive effect on the goals of the Advancement Office.
Sarah Seavey, Director of Alumni Career Services and an innovative leader in her field, has effectively brought her vision to life over the past year and is scaling the services her office provides to meet the needs of a large alumni community.
Read the announcement below (or on the UM website), featured in the recent University of Miami Alumni Association Newsletter, to learn more about how Sarah and her team collaborated with uConnect to scale their work supporting alumni.
