Congratulations to Jessica Oviedo and the UCLA Extension team. Jessica who leads the career service efforts for UCLA Extension is doing amazing work and has accomplished a lot with the uConnect career services marketing platform. And this effort is being recognized!
At this year’s UPCEA (University Professional and Continuing Education Association) MEMS Conference, Jessica accepted two awards on behalf of UCLA Extension: Gold Medal win - Most Improved: Scaling Career Service Marketing and a Silver Medal win in the Interactive Media category for their career website, (it happens to be powered by uConnect!)
UCLA Extension is able to provide tailored career services for over 35,000 adult learners even though they only have a staff of one dedicated to this area. For UCLA Extension students, much like students at most institutions, career advancement is the #1 motivator in enrollment decisions, so it was critical to develop a strategy that would that would support career exploration and dynamically adapt to the needs of each individual’s career path. UCLA Extension’s career services portal, powered by uConnect has built-in, seamless integrations from tools and resources across campus to create automated feeds into the platform based on individual user preferences. This feed automation gives them a way to easily promote resources relevant for the adult learner such as online events, career advice, industry blogs, and job opportunities and then curate these resources into 13 unique Career Communities.
UCLA Extension has also been able to extend the network of community experts participating in the career services experience. Faculty, alumni, and employers, can now post content as “Industry Insiders” which helps showcase UCLA Extension’s unique value proposition. In the first year of our partnership, UCLA Extension has had 150,000 unique visitors to the platform and their CSM usage has increased by 500%.
Congratulations again to Jessica and UCLA Extension on your well-deserved win!
