It's the last Mid Month Memo of 2021! 🎊 Read on to learn a quick way to highlight your Communities and for a special spotlight!
As 2021 comes to a close we wanted to take this opportunity to spotlight all of our fantastic uConnect users! It has been inspiring to see the incredible work being done within your platforms to support your wide-ranging stakeholders. From increasing the accessibility to career information, to centralizing campus resources into one place (and everything in between), we couldn't be more proud to play a small role in the transformational work being done by our campus partners.
Here are a few stats that reflect this impressive work:
⭐ The uConnect community has attracted nearly 4M unique visitors across all of your collective platforms--just in 2021!
⭐ Roughly 300,000 unique pieces of content were published (and over 1M via integrations) #somuchcontent
⭐ There were 1,271 unique users publishing content this year!
Thank you for being a part of the uConnect community and for letting us support your work this year. We're looking forward to our continued partnership in 2022 and elevating the critical work you all do.
Within a Community Group, you can have a wide range of Communities, and all are equally valuable! Because your Community Groups can cover such a broad set of topics, whether they be focused on career paths, affinities and identities, or anything in between, you may want to make it easy for users to navigate between these Communities. We have a quick way to help you do just that!
For any Community Group you have the option to enable either a dropdown menu or a set of buttons that show on that Parent Community, in addition to your main navigation. You can also decide if you want the buttons or the menu to display just on the Parent Community or whether they should display on all Communities within that group.
For example, if you had Career Development as a Community Group, Career Development would also be the Parent Community, and within that Community Group you might find 'Write a Cover Letter' and 'Negotiate a Job Offer' sub-Communities. That means you can choose to have the dropdown menu or buttons display on just Career Development, or on Career Development, Write a Cover Letter and your Negotiate a Job Offer Communities!
To set this up, you can navigate to Manage > Communities, search for a Community Group and select 'Edit' and then scroll to the 'Show sub-Communities?' dropdown. Change this to 'Yes - Dropdown' or 'Yes - Buttons,' select update and you'll see these display on the front end of your platform! You can even use the 'Sub-communities dropdown label' to choose just what the dropdown menu reads as.
Having any trouble setting this up? Just reach out to our Support Team at firstname.lastname@example.org. We'll be glad to help!
The following partner institutions are having their uConnect birthdays this month (aka the anniversary of their platform launch, but more fun).
We're wishing a happy 6th birthday to University of Denver - Sturm College of Law, George Washington University School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and Nichols College, a happy 2nd birthday to Rutgers University - Newark and Sacred Heart University and a happy 1st birthday to Schreiner University and the University of Massachusetts Amherst Isenberg School of Management!
