Capella University serves undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral learners from all 50 states and more than 20 countries. Unlike traditional universities, Capella was created to provide personalized learning in an online format that is flexible to fit one’s schedule.
A large percentage of Capella’s learners are returning to education to advance their careers so that they can maximize their personal and professional potential. To support learner career development, Capella launched their new Virtual Career Center.
The new Career Center is a centralized, online space where learners and alumni can easily access career tools, individual support, and information on career events. These resources are shared in online Career Interest Groups that have been created to align with the University’s academic programs.
The navigation of the Career Center reflects the different stages of the Career Strategy Lifecycle, which are, explore, connect, prepare, and act. These stages are integral to learner success and are the stages most individuals visit and revisit throughout their careers. Under each stage or navigational heading are resources to help learners create their own career strategy.
To build their new virtual career center, Capella partnered with uConnect, makers of the only career services marketing system for higher education.
“With the launch of the new career center, we are excited to be strengthening our ability to support the unique career development needs of Capella learners and alumni,” says Bob Morrill, Associate Vice President of the Office of Employability. “Our goal is to help all learners translate the Capella education into a return on their investment in education. The new Career Center will streamline and enhance our ability to achieve that goal.”
