Brandeis International Business School, a globally top-ranked business school in Waltham, Massachusetts, launched an innovative virtual career center to provide students with the information, opportunities and support they need to make informed career decisions from anywhere in the world.
The International Business School’s Career Strategies and Engagement Center (CSE) is known for its high-touch approach, collaborating with each student to develop personalized career goals and strategies. With a shift to virtual learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, the CSE quickly identified the need for a virtual career platform to centralize resources and maintain close ties with students across countries and time zones. Brandeis partnered with uConnect, the creators of the first all-in-one virtual career center, to build an accessible new platform: CSE Connect.
Enhancing the wealth of in-person services and supports the Career Strategies and Engagement Center was already offering, CSE Connect provides a centralized hub for students to access the CSE’s robust career support and resources as well as explore Communities based on academic programs and industry interests. These Communities are organized into dynamic, digital pages aligned to each International Business School degree program as well as potential career paths, such as “Consulting,” “Finance” and “Data and Business Analytics,” with the goal of providing students a clear path for self-directed engagement and exploration.
“Now more than ever, empowering our community with exceptional online career support is essential to our mission, and partnering with uConnect has helped bring that vision to life,” said Frank Fessenden, Executive Director of Corporate Relations at Brandeis International Business School. “With CSE Connect, our students, whether they are on campus or across the globe, now have highly-individualized support on their path to success.”
Community pages are continuously refreshed with new content through technical integrations built into the uConnect virtual career center, including Handshake to pull in jobs, internships and events; Vault for industry guides; and trusted content providers such as Springboard and The Muse for curated news. CSE resources, including resume templates, recruitment guides and important updates, are tagged to each Community so students can easily access the information that matters most to them. Students are able to schedule advising appointments with their Career Coaches and Community Experts and identify networking opportunities with alumni and peers. They can also access external resources, such as BigInterview, CQ Interactive and Workmaze, directly from the virtual career center.
“The Brandeis International Business School team understands that collaboration is key to building the best possible experience for their students” saysDavid Kozhuk, Founder and CEO of uConnect. “It has been a great pleasure working with student success advocates across campus in the building of the virtual career center, and we look forward to continued collaboration for years to come .”
CSE Connect is geared towards current students, while also providing comprehensive information for alumni, employers and Brandeis community members. The open-access structure of CSE Connect also allows prospective students to browse the abundant career development supports that would be available to them as a student.
