Announcing the Career Everywhere Conference Series

CE conference announcement header

We are thrilled to announce the first Career Everywhere regional conference series, taking place in four cities across the country this fall and winter. We launched the Career Everywhere series to create a space for dialogue and innovation during a significant transition in our field. The way our society understands student success is changing, and higher education must adjust accordingly in order to stay relevant and competitive among today’s career-driven students. To do so, it is imperative that colleges and universities expand and readjust focus beyond academic outcomes, to incorporate career outcomes into the student success equation, and embed the vital tools and information that live in the career center into every aspect of the student journey. Career development can no longer be relegated to one office, but instead must become part of the foundational work of every office and department across campus.

Last November, uConnect held its first Career Everywhere conference at the University of Connecticut. The event brought together over 100 higher education leaders, featured many informative sessions delivered by uConnect customers and a keynote from the Stephanie Marken, Executive Director of Education Research and former Chief Methodologist from Gallup. The feedback we received after the event, and the clear need for a forum to discuss the future of career services in higher education, led us to launch a series of Career Everywhere conferences. These events, much like our initial conference, are designed to help further the message of Career Everywhere: the importance and impact of integrating career services into every aspect of the student journey, from enrollment through completion.

We are also expanding the events to  include a second day dedicated to uConnect users. We have been asked by many of our partners if we would facilitate a uConnect user meet-up so they can learn from others and share best practices.  Now they will have an opportunity to do so! The first day, of these two-day events, will bring together both uConnect and non-uConnect higher education leaders, while the second day will be dedicated solely to uConnect customers.

To learn more about the upcoming conferences and see who is lined up to present, visit the Career Everywhere events page. On this page we’ll be continuing to announce more additions to the list of fantastic speakers who will be presenting at these events, so be sure to check back.

Space if very limited for our first Career Everywhere conference in the series, so don’t wait to register!  It takes place on September 26th at the offices of Strada Education Network. Register now for early bird pricing!

Registration is also open for the first uConnect User Meet-Up, taking place at Indiana University’s Walter Center Career Achievement at the College of Arts + Sciences on September 27th.  It’s going to be a great half day event. Register today to reserve your spot.
